Mounted Archery

Horseback archery arose when man had mastered two things:  the riding of horses and the manufacture and use of bows.  The mounted archer had advantages that the charioteer just couldn't keep up with.  He could operate in rougher terrain and didn't depend on a delicate chariot.  Mounted archery made life on the steppes of Asia possible and practical.  As lovers of archery and the horse, we proudly bring the SWC horse bow in tribute to the Scythians, Sarmatians, Huns, Magyars, Turks and Mongols that made such a powerful mark on history.

Our "Horse Bow" is light, fast and out performs the competition - PERIOD!. Yeah that is said by all bow makers we know, but our bows are made and used by bowyers that understand two things - the making of the bow and the use of it from horseback. Maple core wood with special tapered lam's for speed, Light weight riser and tips and a shape that brings it all together for SPEED, ACCURACY and POWER!

The SWC Horsebow (Magyar)

SiegeWorks offers these bows in two configurations
U-Finish (left picture - full draw) or Finished
(Right three bows).

Our Magyar bows are hand made using maple cores
and modern Bo-tuff glass.  White ash is used for the
syah and handle. This combination along with the duel
taper stacked maple laminate core provide a fast, light
and stable bow. These bows are capable of 32" draws
and speeds up to 200fps. We use these bows on horse
back and have found these bows tough as nails in the woods and on the range. These bows come with a B-50 flemish twist string standard.

               Finished - starting at 255.00 + s/h
